Flying on two wheels

Motorbikes also known as “piki pikis” or “boda bodas” in Kenya are a common mode of transport. And my favorite transport.

Riding a motorcycle means entering the avatar state. I myself sometimes ask the motorcyclist to go at full speed. This makes me so cheerful. The delight sensation that comes with the speed is inevitable.

On the other hand, speed comes with great power. This power tends to make motorcyclists misbehave on the road and mostly get others in danger. They have the reputation for unsafe driving, catcalling and harassing side walkers. Over the years they have shown a more reliable service, though it’s an ongoing progress.

The combination of the euphoria, fear and tranquility that I felt from riding a motorbike for the first time is unforgettable. However, I feared the motorcyclist would take a wrong turn and I wouldn’t know since I wasn’t familiar with the streets yet. This has become one of the ways I get simple joys.

Massive traffics it’s a problem for motorbikes they have the chance to cut through and slip by. It gets me to my destination with half the time a car can in traffic.

To my readers stay safe and have fun! 😊💜
