Holiday

I haven’t given much thought to how I would spend my three month holiday but going America, Australia and Malaysia seemed like a good way to go. Ever since I was a child I fantasized about traveling the world. Once I moved in Kenya for studies I told myself that in every holiday I get, I would go out of Nairobi or explore in Nairobi. So I keep count of the holidays.

The thing with long holidays is that it is almost impossible to not get stuck in a rut. Small thing kept amusing me, Netflix and my rooftop. Slowly time went past, really fast. I can’t get myself to regret the time that went by so I needed to make the most of the remaining days I began with Eid al-adha. Eid al-adha is also called the “Festival of Sacrifice” is the second of two Eids celebrated each year.

We celebrated Eid by slaughtering an animal, typically a sheep or a goat, during Eid celebrations as a symbol of Ibrahim’s sacrifice to Allah. Then the feast begins we eat together with friends and family. The meat is divided into three equal parts. One part is for the household, one for the other family members, friends and neighbours and one for the poor.This Eid is three days long so I did as much as I could. My Turkish outfit fit into the mood. This is what I put together;
